THE NOMASEI FAMILY - Episode 8
Adèle Bréau, novelist and fashion and gastronomy director at Gala, wears Nomasei on a daily basis and answers our questions.
- What do you do for a living ? “I'm a novelist, fashion and food director at Gala and author of lots of little texts of life moments on my Insta account.”
- What's your mantra ? "I have quite a few that converge on the same thing. “What's done is done. “There's always a little time to devote to an exciting new activity.” And I recently discovered a new rule of life that I love: “If what you have to do takes less than a minute, do it right away.”
- Your best find for dealing with stress/ stage fright ? “Thinking about my kids. It's funny when I was pregnant with my first son everything changed. I had a crazy baby boost. It's as if his presence in my life, and then his brother's, made everything else absolutely no big deal in fact. As a result, I'm always putting what scares or upsets me into perspective with 'real life', and that disorients me.”
- How do you feel about your Nomasei? “Free. But still sexy. Which is hyper difficult to reconcile and especially in terms of shoes. My first pair, the white boots [ARIA] were a revelation. Since then, I've also had the black ones, the thigh-high boots [WHISPER], and more recently the wedge sandals [FRENCHKISS], with which I've hiked from dawn to dusk without my feet ever hurting. I tell everyone about them, especially those who tell me “I haven't worn heels since the Covid. I don't want any more pain. So much for style. Well, I don't.”
- What's your comfort zone ? “Cafés, especially Le Petit Poucet Place de Clichy. You'd have to sell a kidney to get an espresso there, but I love the atmosphere, the fact that it's always crowded and buzzing.”
- Your styling advice?
1. "Have two or three 'signature' looks in which you feel comfortable and pretty at the same time, and which you can fall back on in the mornings when you've put on your whole wardrobe because you're down because 'nothing suits you' and so nothing fits.
2- "Take screenshots of looks you've spotted on celebrities or people in the street, which you can consult on days when you lack inspiration (aka Monday mornings).
3- "Wear heels, no matter how small, when you want to feel badass for an important business or personal meeting. They're only a few centimetres, but they change your whole attitude. Even when you're sitting down.”
THE NOMASEI FAMILY is about strong women, women who inspire us. They are friends, customers or strangers who wear Nomasei in their daily lives as independent women.
